Autumn

Yesterday, when I got into work, everyone I encountered was grumbling about the weather.  In their defense, it was dark and pouring rain, but their larger complaint was that summer was over and fall is here.  To be honest, I couldn’t be happier!  What could be better than cool, crisp weather, perfect for wearing wool?

My high school debate coach (who was also the assistant head of school at the time) was Canadian, and always made fun (in a nice way) of us silly New Englanders complaining in the dead of winter about how cold it was, saying, in all *sorts* of weather that it really wasn’t a big deal, it was just “sweater weather.”  I definitely felt like channeling that spirit and telling my colleagues that yesterday!

What is your favorite part of the changing season?

Apple picking! We delight in the large number of delicious apple crisps we can get from a half bushel of Ida Reds.
